Port of Spain and Central Trinidad Facility
Government has indicated its intention to construct a replacement facility for the Port of Spain General Hospital (POSGH), and establish a new facility to serve the expanding residential, commercial and industrial needs of central Trinidad. Within the ambit of the TTHSI, professional healthcare planning and design services capable of advising on the construction of facilities that are flexible in use and can accommodate many years of future service and changing health care technologies were identified. A contract has been signed with HDR Architecture Inc., to undertake work on a master-plan for services throughout the country, and specifically to advise on:
- a Campus Master Plan for the POSGH;
- a Programme Plan for new hospital buildings at the POSGH; and
- a feasibility study for a new hospital for Central Trinidad.
